How real-time data reaches the map
Open data feeds publish occupancy for many roadside lots on a short cadence (often about every three minutes). Taipei Parking ingests that feed and colors markers: available, full, or no live telemetry.
Lots without counts still appear—useful for price comparison—but you should treat them as “unknown occupancy.”
Saving fuel and time
- Pick a target block with open spaces before you leave the arterial road
- Hide full rows in filters to reduce dead-end detours
- Zoom in when the map is sparse—full detail loads at neighborhood zoom
- Share a lot pin with passengers so navigation converges on one spot
Limits to expect
Real-time does not mean instantaneous—a space can fill between refresh cycles. Always obey signage and payment rules. Availability is informational, not a reservation.
